Letters may contain sensitive information, for example about health or finances. You process this data yourself on your device; we never receive it.
Lettamu uses the camera only when you scan a letter. With “Choose from Photos” it only sees the images you select. If you add a deadline to your calendar, you create the event yourself; it is handled like your other calendar entries (for example synced via iCloud or another calendar service you use). Reminders are local notifications scheduled by your iPhone.
If you share an explanation or a reply draft (e.g. by email or messenger), you decide who receives it. Lettamu sends nothing automatically.
Downloads and updates are handled by Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland) under Apple’s Privacy Policy. If you join the beta via TestFlight, Apple provides us with crash reports, technical device data and any feedback you choose to send. The content of your letters is not included.
If you write to support@lettamu.app, we use your message only to reply and fix issues (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Please do not send us letters or notices unless necessary. You can ask us to delete your email at any time.
lettamu.app is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub Inc., USA). GitHub processes technically necessary data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). GitHub is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no selling or sharing of data, no user account, no uploading of your letters.
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Since your letters are stored only on your device, you can delete them there at any time – individually in the app or completely by removing the app. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
We update this policy when the app or the law changes. The version published here applies.
